Marketing and Events Manager

Austlen™ Baby Co. is an exciting start-up in the juvenile products industry. Austlen partners with retailers to deliver products that out-perform our competition. We are seeking to fill our marketing and events manager position with a positive, enthusiastic, talented person who drives for results, has a strong work ethic, and can both create and execute. Our marketing and events manager will report to Austlen’s director of marketing and will be responsible for overseeing projects from concept ideation through final execution. This position requires a hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment with diverse responsibilities.


  • Implement Austlen marketing strategies and activities including channel-specific marketing plans, which engage and expand customer awareness, understanding, enthusiasm, and adoption of company brand and product lines
  • Cultivate brand loyalty through brand storytelling and development, and execution of initiatives that elevate and connect customers with Austlen
  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables to successful completion under tight deadlines while managing contingencies, timelines, vendors and internal resources
  • Work with external agencies to develop marketing collateral and assets, including creation and editing of photography, videography, in-store display fixtures, print and digital assets
  • Execute against marketing KPIs that measure effectiveness of promotional campaigns, advertisements, events, and brand outreach as they directly correlate to sales velocity
  • Manage and attend events and trade shows. This includes development and execution of event project plans, balancing priorities of competing events, timelines, budgets, travel arrangements, venue selection, marketing and sales deliverables, and management of vendor and team responsibilities
  • Research, plan, develop, and manage marketing deliverables to exhibit and promote Austlen’s brand and products
  • Manage and execute multi-store merchandising projects and roll-outs including development and sourcing of merchandising materials, management of third-party vendors, development of instructional literature, and delivery of retailer training
  • Research, develop and execute promotional partnerships and co-marketing activities
  • Investigate speaking opportunities, award submissions, and other industry-specific initiatives
  • Execute special projects as needed to support the business


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, merchandising, business or other related field
  • Minimum 3 years of marketing/branding/merchandising experience with consumer goods – wholesale or retail
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a relentless drive to do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • True team player who collaborates, takes initiative, and prioritizes team over self to achieve goals
  • Curiosity and appreciation of different people’s views and opinions
  • Ability to turn marketing strategy and objectives into successful in-market executions
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in retail and profit-based metrics, with ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
  • Experience managing creative marketing/advertising agencies
  • Knowledge of online retail
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Previous juvenile product experience preferred
  • Working proficiency of NetSuite preferred
  • Required travel of up to 30%
