The Best Travel Stroller for Kids, Luggage and Everything Else We Bring
We travel a lot.
And before having a baby, I don't think I fully appreciated just how much stuff comes along when you travel with kids.
The suitcase is only the beginning. There's the diaper bag, carry-ons, backpacks, baby gear and all the little things you need access to along the way.
That's actually a big reason we chose the Austlen Entourage.
We wanted a stroller that wouldn't just transport our baby. We wanted something that could help transport everything else, too.
Now that we've used it, I can confidently say the Entourage did NOT disappoint.
For us, it's the best travel stroller we've found.
The Travel Stroller That Actually Helps With Our Luggage
The thing that makes the Entourage so different for travel is its carrying capacity.
The Entourage 2.0 has a lower storage basket rated to hold up to 70 pounds, plus an included Market Tote that holds up to 30 pounds. Total stroller capacity is up to 200 pounds of kids + cargo.
That's not just a place to throw a diaper bag.
That's enough capacity to make the stroller genuinely useful for moving our family's travel gear.
Instead of automatically needing a separate luggage cart while also managing the stroller and baby, we can use the Entourage to help carry our things through the airport.
And right now, with just one baby riding, we can take advantage of even more of that space.
Our Baby Loves It, Too
Of course, cargo capacity wouldn't matter much if our daughter hated riding in it.
Thankfully, she absolutely loves her Entourage.
In fact, she naps better in this stroller than any other stroller we've had.
That's been such a pleasant surprise because comfort matters even more when we're traveling. Vacations don't always happen around perfect nap schedules, and sometimes a stroller nap is what keeps the entire day moving.
She can get comfortable while we keep going, and the stroller rides incredibly smoothly.
It also just feels solid.
The Entourage is very well made, and between the construction and smooth ride, it feels like a stroller that's ready for the amount of use our family plans to give it.
How Much Luggage Can Popular Strollers Actually Carry?
Once we started thinking of our stroller as part of our travel system, not just a seat for our baby, I realized how different stroller storage capacities can be.
Here's a quick comparison of three popular single-to-double strollers based on the manufacturers' published storage limits:
| Stroller | Published Cargo/Storage Capacity | Can Carry Luggage? | What That Means for Travel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Austlen Entourage 2.0 | 70-lb lower basket + 30-lb Market Tote = up to 100 lbs. of dedicated cargo capacity; up to 200 lbs. total kids + cargo | Yes, specifically designed to accommodate substantial cargo | Can handle larger/heavier travel gear in addition to everyday baby essentials |
| UPPAbaby Vista V3 | 30-lb basket | Potentially, within the basket's size and 30-lb limit | Generous conventional stroller basket, but substantially lower weight capacity than Entourage, and not capable of larger suitcases |
| Baby Jogger City Select 2 | 15-lb under-seat basket | Potentially for lighter/smaller items within the basket's limits | Better suited to everyday essentials than substantial luggage loads |
Austlen publishes a 70-pound capacity for the Entourage 2.0's lower basket and 30 pounds for its included Market Tote. UPPAbaby publishes a 30-pound basket limit for the Vista V3, while Baby Jogger lists a 15-pound limit for the City Select 2's under-seat basket.
Note: “Can carry luggage” doesn't mean a manufacturer approves attaching suitcases or bags outside designated storage areas. Always use each stroller's approved storage spaces and stay within the manufacturer's weight and usage limits.
For our family, this is a huge difference.
A 15- or 30-pound basket can be great for diapers, snacks and everyday essentials. But when one of the main reasons you're buying a stroller is to make airports and luggage easier, the Entourage's cargo capacity becomes a completely different kind of feature.
And Eventually, It Becomes Our Double Stroller
We're only traveling with one child right now, but another major reason we chose the Entourage was that we didn't want to buy a stroller we'd have to replace when our family changes.
Right now, it's perfect as a single.
If we have a second child, the same frame can become a double stroller with different seating options. And as an older child becomes more independent, it can transition again into a Sit + Stand.
That's what makes it the best single to double to Sit and Stand stroller for us.
Instead of thinking, What stroller will we need next?, we already have one that can adapt to very different stages.
And importantly, we can still use that cargo-carrying ability along the way.
Why I Think It's the Best Double Stroller for Families Who Travel
I used to think choosing the best double stroller was mostly about figuring out where two children would sit.
Now I think that's only part of the equation.
Where does the luggage go?
What about the diaper bag?
What happens when you're navigating an airport with kids and all their gear?
What happens when one child doesn't need a traditional stroller seat anymore?
Those are the questions that matter to me.
The Entourage feels designed around the reality that families aren't just transporting children. We're transporting what can sometimes feel like our entire lives.
Features That Make the Entourage Stand Out for Us
- Up to 200 lbs. total kids + cargo capacity between the 70-lb lower basket, included 30-lb Market Tote, and seating
- Single-to-double-to-Sit + Stand versatility so the stroller can adapt as our family changes
- Expandable frame that gives us more room when we need it without permanently committing us to the stroller's largest configuration
- Room for substantial travel gear, making it much more than a place to stash a diaper bag
- Smooth ride and sturdy construction that make it feel ready for frequent family travel
- Comfortable riding space where our daughter has been taking some of her best stroller naps
- Long-term usefulness, since we can add a second child without starting over with another stroller
Already Dreaming About Our Next Trip
That's probably the best sign that we bought the right stroller.
Traveling with a baby can be stressful, but instead of wondering how we're going to manage everything on our next trip, I'm excited to use the Entourage again.
Our daughter loves riding in it.
We love how smoothly it pushes.
I love how much it can carry.
And knowing that the same stroller can eventually accommodate another child makes the investment feel even better.
We're genuinely proud to push it around and show it off.
Now we just need to decide where we're taking it next.
For a family that travels frequently and wants one stroller that can carry kids and a serious amount of gear, then adapt when the family changes, I can't imagine a better fit.
That's why the Entourage has become our best travel stroller, best double stroller, and best single to double to Sit and Stand stroller all in one.
